- President – Rob Van Winkle – No corrections to the meeting minutes from last week. Approved as submitted
Committee Reports:
- Brent Stewart – Nominating Committee – The Committee has selected members for most of the officer roles for next term. Those offices where a nominee has been selected are: President, Brent Stewart; Vice President Education, Debbie Young; Vice President Membership, Sarah Pitkin; Vice President Public Relations, Susan McConnell; Treasurer, Bill Hurston; Secretary, Sandy Roll; Officer at Large, Rob Van Winkle; Sargeant at Arms, no selection made yet. Being an officer is a worthy opportunity for personal development; and it’s only a 6 month term. If anyone else is interested in any of the roles, please talk to a member of the committee. They are Brent Stewart, Sarah Pitkin, Rob Van Winkle, Jim Salih, and Adam Kutell
Unfinished Business:
- Jim Bubash announced – Janet Bold, Mary K. Spencer, and Kathy Denton will organize the picnic this year. The proposal is to hold the picnic at Crestwood Park, the same place as last year. Pavilion rental is 45.00 and cost of the meat is approximately $45.00 too. Jim will email the members to get a consensus on dates everyone is available. Brent Stewart moved to allocate $100 to hold the picnic at Crestwood Park and procure the food. George Kiser seconded. Janet Bold offered to help prepare the meat. The date will be between July and October. The motion was unanimously approved. Look for Jim’s email and respond as to availability
New Business:
- None
Correspondence and Announcements:
- Jim Bubash – he and his wife will host a concert to benefit the group When the Saints. Javier Mendoza will play at the event. It will be on Sunday, June 10th at The Focal Point located at 2720 Sutton Blvd., Maplewood, Mo. 63143. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7 pm. Ample parking is available. This is a smaller, intimate venue with limited seating. Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com
- Toastmasters International District 8 will provide Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) new officer training on Saturday June 16, 2018 at Lindenwood University in Belleville, IL. The address is 2600 West Main St., Belleville, IL 62226. Doors open for registration at 8:00 am. Light breakfast and lunch will be served. Register at the website: dist8tm.org. This training is a great opportunity to learn about the responsibilities of each officer position and all are encouraged to attend. Officers for next term are strongly encouraged to attend for this reason. Also, the club gets credit toward earning the Distinguished Club Award for new officers receiving this training. There will be other breakout sessions providing training on a variety of interesting topics
