President: Brent Stewart: Event Recap: District A Spring Conference (May 16th, 2026):
Club received the Smedley Distinguished Award (First in the district to achieve this award in 2026). Our club received a trophy and certificate for this accomplishment. The trophy has slots for out-year Smedley recognition. Certificates, a mug, and gift coupons were distributed to the club.
The event featured excellent speeches; Joseph Parks took second place in the district speech competition.
Members are encouraged to visit the new district website (midwestspeakers.org). The South County Toastmasters group photo appeared as the main story in the news section of the new website.
Jim Salih was awarded for youth leadership involvement.
Recap email on Saturday’s event was sent out; several bounced. Members who did not receive it were asked to provide correct emails.
VPE: Jim Salih: June meeting schedule sent out via email; members asked to report if not received. New website is midwestspeakers.org. The former URL redirects automatically to the new website for now.
