Terry O’Brien and Joe McChesney gave a presentation about the Pathways program.  Toastmasters International is transitioning to this new communication and leadership education system. We are not the first nor the last region to introduce this program.  Pathways uses different manuals and evaluation criteria for its projects.  Details of all programs and projects and their manuals are available on line.  Printed materials can be ordered separately at an additional charge.  Members can use the current manuals to continue on Toastmaster’s traditional program for 2 years from the date Pathways is rolled out, in order to complete the track they are on.  February 13, 2018 is the target date for roll out to the clubs.  This date may change.  Toastmasters International will only initiate this program after 70 percent of clubs in each District have received the introduction being given to our club tonight.  Pathways offers 10 different educational paths.  Levels must be done in the order they are laid out in the Program.  However, projects within each level can be done in any order, with a couple exceptions.  The Vice-President of Education, President and Secretary can log into Pathways Basecamp website.  Pathways doesn’t change the club meeting format.  Rob Van Winkle’s summary of the presentation:  education is important for communication and leadership.  Pathways offers a new plan to teach these things.  It’s just a different way to learn than we have used heretofore.
