Called to order at: 7:00 PM, with a quorum being present. Location: MetLife Building.
Presiding officer: Gina Willard. Minutes of the last meeting (November 20th) were sent out and accepted as sent.

Committee Reports:
Matt Ramshaw, chair of the Christmas Party Committee, passed around a sign-up sheet for the December 18th Club Christmas Party. He said that budgeted expenses for the party were $225.00. Adam Kutell moved and Tom Terrific seconded that the Christmas Party Committee be authorized to expend $225.00 for the 2013 Christmas Party. Motion carried.

Old Business:
Jerry Paul, chair of the Nominating Committee, had read the proposed slate of officers at the last meeting. He moved and Carl Hendrickson seconded that the Club members dispense with a secret ballot for each office that is not contested. Motion carried unanimously. Jerry nominated individually each of the following persons for the respective offices and moved that they be elected for the term January through June, 2014: Mark Hayden, Officer-at Large, Robert Osborn, Sergeant-at-Arms, Sudi Gopinath, Treasurer, Steve Bettag, Secretary, Jeff Hall, Vice President of Public Relations, and Carol Lindwedel, Vice President of Membership. There being no further nominations, each was taken up individually and by voice vote motions carried and each was elected. Carl Hendrickson nominated Jerry Paul for Vice President of Education and move that he be elected for the term January through June 2014. There being no further nominations, by voice vote motion carried and Jerry Paul was elected as Vice President of Education.
Jerry Pau, after a few introductory remarks, nominated and moved that Matt Ramshaw be elected Club President for the term January through June, 2014. Carl Hendrickson, after a few introductory remarks, nominated and moved that Shreya Gopal be elected Club President for the term January through June, 2014. There being no other nominations President Willard said that each candidate would have two minutes to address the members. Matt Ramshaw gave a two-minute presentation in person and Shreya Gopal, who was absent, via a recorded message. Jerry tabulated the votes and acted as the tie-breaking vote, if necessary. After the votes were tabulated, President Willard announced that Matt Ramshaw was elected President of the Club for the term January through June, 2014.

Closing Remarks: President Willard showed the book that has been prepared by District 8 listing stories from Toastmasters on how the program has assisted them. Seven Club members submitted stories. A hard copy of the book costs $10.00; or you can get an e-book for a lesser amount. District 8 is planning on another book this spring and President Willard encouraged other Toastmasters to write their story.
Vote Counter Adam Kutell said that most of the notes to Speakers contained the name of the respondent and that it was an excellent suggestion to put a line on the form where each member could put her/his name as the one commenting.
President-elect Ramshaw thanked members for their support. He said that Shreya is a very talented and knowledgeable asset to South County Toastmasters and he looks forward to working with her and other Club members next term.
