Mike Marion: Don Clair had spoken on Monday 2/28/11 at Crossroads Toastmasters Club and tonight two of
its members were attending our meeting as Speaker and Evaluator: Bob Gergen and Ron Lares. Twin Rivers WORD Masters, which meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Twin Rivers Worship Center, 10575 Tesson Ferry Road, has expressed an interest in a club exchange. He asked how many would be interested and several indicated that they were. This will be pursued and more information will be forthcoming at later meetings.
Membership VP Diane Fawcett: moved that the club purchase a supply of ribbons and also name badges for new members. [the votes were $100 for a 50-weeks of ribbons. $85.00 for the purchase of 25 nametags, also about a year’s worth based on the past membership year) During discussion, it was apparent that there were several members who objected to spending club funds on ribbons. Adam Kutell moved for a Division of the Question and I seconded. This motion carried and Diane’s motion was separated into two motions. On the question of the purchase of ribbons, a voice vote did not indicate which side prevailed so, President Wilson asked for a show of hands. The ayes carried. President Wilson called majority ruled at 15 members. The request to purchase name tags passed on a voice vote.

It was mentioned that next week (March 9th) is the club International Speech and Evaluation Contests.
Dues are due; $33.00 for six months.

New Business:
Aidan Griffin was voted in as a new member. Adam Kutell will serve as his Coach. The Area 4 Governor made her visit to the club and announced that the Area International Speech and Evaluation Contests will be Saturday, March 26th at Twin Rivers, from 10-12, with doors open at 9 a.m. and briefing of contestants at 9:30 a.m. The District Conference is April 29-30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. In June (14-15) there is an event in Kimmswick and Toastmasters will be present. The Governor said she would email this information [perhaps Kevin has more information].
Correspondence & Announcements:
Max Kaiser, Jr. – SCTM expresses its deepest sympathy to Past Club President and club member DAVE PUETTMANN on the death of his father, RAYMOND, age 85. A Mass Offering from the Poor Clare Monastery in Oakville was sent to Dave by the club.
