Meeting Minutes South County Toastmasters (#1957) – November 4, 2020

Meeting Date:	November 4, 2020
Meeting Type/Theme:	Regular meeting – Theme: none; Table Topics theme was professional services.
Meeting Location:	Hybrid Meeting – Some attending in person at the Sunset Hills Community Center, Some attending via Zoom
Called to Order:	6:00 PM
Presiding Officer:	Jerry Paul was not present.  Susan McConnell presided as acting President.

Officers’ Reports: Officers:

1. President – Jerry Paul – Not present.  Acting President, Susan McConnell asked if there were any changes to the minutes and hearing none, the minutes of last week’s meeting were approved as posted.
2. VPE – Kat Higashino
   • Kat presented an education award to:
     • Susan McConnell – Visual Communication Level 2
     • Kat sent out the December schedule for the three weeks in December. For January Kat will work with the incoming VPE to train them.
     • We need a Toastmaster for next week to fill in for J. D. Perper who has informed us that he will not be present next week.
3. VPM – Brent Stewart
   • Brent informed us that the club did earn the Smedley award by inducting 5 new members by September 30th. Rob Van Winkle said he received an item from Toastmasters International and will bring it next week.
4. VP-PR – Partick Hunt
   • Patrick sent out video release forms.  Please fill it out and send it back to Patrick if you would like to allow your 45 year video, or photos, to be used by Toastmasters.
5. Secretary – Kathy Denton
   • The club has achieved 6 goals toward the President’s Distinguished award.  The goals to work on going forward are: Pathways Level 3 or above, 2 new members, and officer training for next term.

7. Sergeant at Arms – Jim Salih
8. Officer at Large – Susan McConnell (see President)

Committee Reports:

1. Jim Salih reported that the Nominating Committee, made up of Bill Collier, Kathy Denton, and Jim Salih, is on our way to completing the slate of officers for the next term (Jan 1 through July 31).  Once the slate is filled the nominees will be read at upcoming meetings prior to being voted in.
