Officers’ Reports: Officers:

1. President – Jerry Paul –
   • Minutes of the September 9 meeting were sent out, hearing no change requests they were approved as sent and posted.
   • Jerry showed us a coloring sheet that included military people, firefighters and police with an American flag.
2. VPE – Kat Higashino :
   • Welcome to our new members, Elisa and Callie.  Kat will release the October schedule by this weekend.
3. VPM – Brent Stewart – Brent introduced Elisa Wong and read her application for membership. She was voted into the club.  Please welcome Elisa.  Her mentor is Susan McConnell.
4. VP-PR – Partick Hunt – If anyone has experience with creating virtual banners let Patrick know.
5. Secretary – Kathy Denton – Toastmasters International has the Smedley Award open to achieve.  To obtain the award our club must get 5 new members from August 1 through September 30.  Thanks to our new members who are already helping the club out by joining.  To any guests who are considering joining, if you can join by September 30th it will help the club achieve the goal.  Brent shared that we are on track to achieve it.
6. Treasurer – Kim Bond
   • Dues of $76 are now past due since they were due by September 15th.  Kim sent an email to those who have not paid yet.  Contact Kim Bond with any questions. Secretary post meeting note: all member’s email addresses are in Turbobase under Members, Active Members.

Committee Reports:

1. Golf Outing Committee – Bill Collier reported that the golf outing will be held on October 10 in Fenton.  You do not need to be good or experienced to attend.  The cost is $35.  Bill has awards to give out at the outing.  Contact Bill if you’d like to attend.

Unfinished Business: None other than Dues are past due (See Kim Bond’s officer report). New Business: None Announcements:

1. The Toastmaster next week will be George Kiser.
2. Jerry Paul reported that he is planning an executive meeting for the 19th.  He will send invites to the officers.
3. Bill Collier informed us of the passing of South County Toastmasters’ long time and much loved member Jack Bettag.  Per Bill’s email:
   1. Visitation will take place at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois, on Sunday, 9/20 from 4pm-8pm 
   2. Contact Bill for more information.
   3. Secretary’s post meeting note:  Jack was a Distinguished Toastmaster, a member for 37 years, and Club President 3 times (1993, 1999, and 2005).  Jack was also District Secretary, and Speech Craft and Youth Leadership chair.
4. Dave Dilthey, a guest, past Toastmaster of West County and past Area Governor, is also affiliated with Sunset Hills Rotary club and he informed us after the meeting that if any Toastmasters want an opportunity to speak outside the club the Rotary club invites speakers.
