Officer Reports:
- President – Brent Stewart – No corrections to the meeting minutes from last week. Approved as submitted
Committee Reports:
- Kathy Denton awarded Longevity Awards to those members who qualified but had not already received one at the Christmas Party: Mary K. Spencer (1 year and Youth Leadership Chair), Sean Sheehan (1 year and Club Secretary), Jerry Paul (7 Years and almost every Officer Role), Carl Hendrickson (38 Years), and Howard Brandt (55 Years, 4 clubs, every officer role and President of every club he has been in)
Unfinished Business:
- Sean Sheehan completed his Competent Communicator book and received his CC Award.
New Business:
- Jerry Paul, Area 17 Director, inducted the new Officers: Debbie Young, President; George Kiser, Sargeant at Arms; Kathy Denton, Officer at Large
- Mike McCarty was voted in as a new member. George Kiser agreed to be his Mentor
- The club voted to hold the club International Speech and Evaluation Contest on February 6th
Correspondence and Announcements:
- Jim Salih recently exchanged emails with Elango Booblavan, for those who remember him. Elango was a past member until 2006. All is going well with him and his family. They are still in Baltimore.
- Jim Salih as chair of the SpeechCraft Committee, meets 45 minutes before the weekly meeting for SpeechCraft. SpeechCraft is a condensed speech training class which gives a person a head start in public speaking and Toastmasters. If you are interested, SpeechCraft is free for members with a $30 fee for non-members. If you are interested in SpeechCraft contact Jim Salih
- A Guest who heard about our weekly meetings through Meetup came last week when the meeting was cancelled. We need to update the Meetup post when a meeting will be cancelled
- Sarah Pitkin announced her engagement to Kevin Styers
