Officer Reports:
- President – Rob Van Winkle – No corrections to the meeting minutes from last week. Approved as submitted
- President – Rob Van Winkle – On behalf of the executive committee, the club has attained 8 of the 10 goals needed to achieve the distinguished club award. We should attain all 10 by the end of June

Unfinished Business:
- Debbie Young – Last week we opened a discussion about how to conduct the 5th meeting in May. Jim Bubash moved to discuss the available options. Kath Schafroth seconded. Jim offered the suggestion of a speech marathon with a round robin evaluation opened to all members if the speaker would like this. A discussion was held with points made by Kate Schafroth, Carl Hendrickson, Kathy Denton, and Debbie Young. Jim withdrew his original motion and made a substitute one; that the club conduct a speech marathon during this meeting. Sandy Dickson seconded. This motion was approved by a majority of the vote. Jim Bubash moved that the speech marathon have a round robin evaluation if speakers want to do this. This issue was tabled in the interest of time.
New Business:
- Mary K. Spencer – Next week is the graduation for the Youth Leadership Program. There will be 5 student speakers and no evaluations. Alan Kirby will do a commencement speech and be evaluated by Tom Terrific. Table Topics will be done at end of meeting
Correspondence and Announcements:
- The Division A speech and evaluation contests will be held this Saturday at the Jefferson County Library located at 1701 Missouri State Road, Arnold, Missouri 63010. Doors open at 12:30, briefings take place at 12:45, and the contest begins at 1:00. All are welcome. Good luck to our members Susan McConnell and Adam Kutell as they participate in this level of the contests.
