Officer Reports:
- President – Rob Van Winkle – No corrections to the meeting minutes from last week. Approved as submitted
- Debbie Young – The month of May will have a 5th meeting. She is soliciting how members would like to conduct that meeting. Rob Van Winkle – sometimes we have a speech marathon or a contest. Jim Bubash and Vic Mattison like tall tale contests. Jim Salih – are there any requirements that we need to meet before 6/30/18 for awards? Debbie Young – no, none that would be affected by the type of meeting we have. Kate Schafroth – likes tall tale contests, and organizing a contest could help someone meet a requirement. The date is May 30th. The issue was tabled for consideration to be discussed again next week.

New Business:
- Geoff King – An application for new membership has been received from Tom Boyland. The treasurer has received payment for membership dues. Tom found out about Toastmasters from his employer’s HR department. Rich Puskarich moved to admit Tom as a member and Geoff King seconded. The motion was unanimously approved. His mentor will be Jim Salih
Correspondence and Announcements:
- Jim Bubash – The club website has been updated to highlight the Speakers Bureau. If anyone would like to be added to this list, offering to be an outside speaker, please tell him
- Kathy Denton – She gave a presentation at Washington University on cyber security
- Geoff King – The Division 8 speech and evaluation contests will be held on April 21st at the Jefferson County Library. Doors open at 12:30, briefings take place at 12:45, and the contest begins at 1:00. All are welcome
- Victor Mattison – Geoff King has been asked to take a position as Director of Area F. Congratulations to Geoff for the recognition he has received as a Toastmasters leader
