Officer Reports:
- President – Rob Van Winkle – No corrections to the meeting minutes from last week. Approved as submitted
- President – Rob Van Winkle – The club has reached 8 of the 10 district goals to achieve the Distinguished Club Award. The remaining goals are to admit 2 new members and have 1 more member complete the advanced communicator award. These goals are quite achievable

New Business:
- Tom Terrific – He bought new SD cards for use to videotape speeches. He would like to be reimbursed for the 5 cards for a total of $38.91. Tom moved to be reimbursed for this amount and Susan McConnell seconded. The motion was unanimously approved
- Steve Winheim – The club’s current white board easel is very heavy and hard to move for each meeting. He found 1 on the Amazon website for $73.00. He described its features. He will send everyone a link of a picture of the one he identified. Whether to purchase a new white board was tabled for tonight pending everyone looking at the picture Steve will send us. Jim Salih stated he supports the club getting a new white board
Correspondence and Announcements:
- Debbie Young – The April schedules she recently emailed to the group include a list of people who can fill in as speakers at the last minute. She will continue to include this list of last minute speakers on future emails. She will add or remove from the list as requested if you email her
- Susan McConnell – She will see Brian Ettling this summer at Crater Lake. He is a former member of our club
- Geoff King – The Area IV International Speech and Evaluation Contest is coming up. The winners of our club’s contest in each category are eligible to compete in this next level. This contest will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2018 starting at 12:30 pm. The contest will be held at the Grant’s View Branch of St. Louis County Library located at 9700 Musick Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63123. Doors open at 12:00 pm, Briefings take place at 12:15 pm. The contest should last about 2 hours. Geoff is the event chairperson and asks for volunteers for any of the support roles. Contact Geoff for more info or to help at the event
- Sean Sheehan – Club banner is in need of sewing repair
- Jim Salih – The District website advertises a speaker’s bureau like the speaker’s bureau our club advertises on its website. Anyone interested in obtaining outside speaking opportunities, register on either website
