Committee Reports:
Carl Hendrickson reported on behalf of the Speakers Bureau – Howard Brandt wrote an article for the Oakville Call which prompted a call from the Tesson Ferry Branch Library. They asked whether Max Kaiser, Jr. would be available Wednesday, November 16 to talk about the history of Jefferson Barracks, if Steve Flick would be available either Wednesday, February 15th or Wednesday, April 18th to provide his “Fact or Fiction” presentation and if Carl would be available to speak on Wednesday, March 18th on “The Real Story of St. Patrick”. All would be at 2:00 p.m. Steve and Carl have confirmed that they will speak. Carl is waiting to hear back from Max.
Education Committee met before Toastmasters. The committee will be working with the VP of Education, Nilsa Scott, to ensure the club will receive all the points it is entitled to. It is a good time to start concentrating on the manuals and get them completed.
Alan Kirby reminded the club of the upcoming contest. It is on 8/31 and will be on humorous speeches and table topics. There is still room for anyone interested in joining. He also needs a 2nd time keeper. Please contact Alan if you would like to participate.

Old Business:
Motion was presented to raise the South County Toastmasters rates from $39 – $42 every 6 months. This is an additional raise from the motion that passed last week to raise rates from $33 – $39. The club did not adjust the rates enough to keep a $6 spread to cover costs the club has throughout the year. Motion was voted on and passed.

New Business:
Alan Kirby would like up to $100 to cover the costs of trophies for the contest on 8/31. He will pay for the trophies up front and present receipts to the club to be reimbursed. Motion was voted on and passed.
Judy Sowers presented receipts in the amount of $46.73 which covered the costs of manuals and binders for new members. She motioned that she be reimbursed for the costs. Motion was voted on and passed.
Adam Kutell received his Advanced Communicator Bronze certificate. Congratulations to Adam for completing the manual.
Toastmasters International awarded the club with the Beat the Clock award. This award is presented to clubs who have inducted 5 new members between May 1st and June 30th. Judy Sowers accepted the award on the behalf of Diane Fawcett.

Correspondence & Announcements:
The MetLife building is taking on more tenants. The building management has decided to keep the doors leading to the main floor bathrooms locked in the evenings. The only bathrooms that will be available are located in the cafeteria level.
