Why did you join Toastmasters?
I agreed to come to Toastmasters in order to help a friend. One of my church friends was having difficulty speaking in front of a group and I suggested Toastmasters. We attended Speech Craft together and after completing the class joined the group.
What’s the greatest benefit you’ve received from Toastmasters?
I believe putting yourself on the line in front of speakers that want to become even better speakers is powerfully important. In order to become the best you have to challenge yourself.
What has been the most difficult or challenging role for you as Toastmaster?
I would say the role of vote tabulator. The little details that makes things flow is not my greatest strength.
What are some of your interests outside of Toastmasters?
I am an author, I have three books published, I work as a trainer and speaker for Anthony Robbins and Anthony Robbins Foundation, I am currently participating in a doctoral program in psychoneurology, I have 6 children and ten grandchildren. When I finally grow up, I will choose to get into my boat and fish a day or two.
What’s one for your favorite quotes?
“You will always live up to the expectations of your peer group” – Colin Powell.
Tell us something we don’t know about you.
