South County Toastmasters Club 1957

Officer Reports:

President: Brent Stewart: Our SCTM club was observed by the District Director Jim Zboran on April 1st and our club passed with “Flying Colors”.

The District Conference to be held at Orlando’s, 4300 Hofmeister on May 16th. Registration:$27 (or $22 for early payment). Please use the code “District 8 Dollars” if you paid your April 2026 dues early. The fee includes a lunch buffet and many “learning” opportunities.
Joseph Parks will represent SCTM club in the Humorous Speech contest.


VPE: Jim Salih: Bocce & Golf Social Event (June 2026).Club has hosted bocce events for the last three years at Tower Tee in Afton, combining fun, games, and camaraderie. Golf option (par 3) available before bocce, handled independently by Bill Collier; participants pay Golf fees individually. Motion: Allow up to $100 of club funds to reserve two bocce courts for one Saturday in June (June 6, 13, or 20). Members will reimburse the club $5 each to offset this expense. Surplus funds return to the club; any shortfall expected to be minimal. Motion passed unanimously.

A special weekly meeting is planned for April 29th titled “What Happens at Toastmasters Shouldn’t Stay at Toastmasters” Five club members will give speeches related to how Toastmasters lessons can be used outside the club.

The Youth Leadership Graduation is Rescheduled for: April 14, 2026, at 6:30 PM at our usual meeting location.

Working to complete the SCTM “Full Circle” Awards. Members are eligible if they complete all club roles between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. Additional awards to be distributed at this meeting.

New Business: Debbie Young provided status on purchasing an Archival Box for Club Historical Artifacts. The discussion focused on preserving historical club ribbons, some over 50 years old. Motion: Approve up to $80 (initially $60, then amended) for purchasing a buffered archival box and tissue paper to store approximately 90 ribbons and allow for future additions. Motion passed unanimously.
