Unfinished Business: (1)Motion Proposed: Return to the “old” timing method: Green light at 2 minutes before requested speech time. Yellow at 1 minute before. Red at requested time. 30-second grace period after red for qualification.
Discussion: Some members question dropping the club’s previous practice of no minimum length. Simpler calculation cited as a reason for change (2 minutes is easier to manage than 1.5 minutes). Debate about harmonizing with International standards versus traditional club timing. Motion to switch back to the traditional timing method passed and is effective immediately.
