Discovering Your Communication Style – With a Twist!

Almost every Pathways learning path includes the Communication Style project — and for good reason! It’s one of those aha-moment experiences where you learn not only how you naturally communicate, but also how to better connect with people who “speak” a little differently than you do.

The project starts with a quick questionnaire that reveals your predominant communication style. Are you direct and to the point? Analytical and precise? Maybe you’re more supportive or expressive? Whatever your results, the goal is to help you strengthen your style and adapt it when needed.

A few weeks ago, Jessica Thompson took this project to the next level. Instead of just filling out the questionnaire herself, she invited her student and a few friends to take it too — about her! That’s right — she asked others to share how they perceive her communication style. The result? A fascinating look at how she’s seen through different lenses, both inside and outside of Toastmasters.

Jessica’s creative approach shows exactly how Pathways can go beyond the basics — helping you grow not just as a communicator, but as a leader who understands how to truly connect with others.

Way to go, Jessica! You turned a great project into an even greater learning experience.
